Arizona Vacation Part... what is it? 9?

What are we up to now? Still hanging in there? Let's see... Wednesday night we went to ASU to participate in their free observatory show. Prior to going up Chloe was invited in tos et up the fulcrum (?) pendulum. She was rather nervous to be in there with the big swinging ball but super excited too.
You can see Uncle Ryna giving Lexa a shoulder boost so she could see in the background.

Arizona Vacation Part 8

Natural History Museum... dinosaurs... meteorites... panning for gold...air conditioning... who wouldn't love that?

Arizona Vacation Part 7

The zoo!! Always popular the kids wanted to go back to the zoo. This year we toured the animals, ate a picnic lunch, and then the girls changed into their swimsuits to play in the water areas. It was perfect for another day in the 90's.

Arizona Vacation Part 6

Day two in Arizona we went to the Science Museum. It was another very hot day (although not 100 but close). Spending the day in air conditioning seemed like a great idea. The girls have been getting interested in the solar system, so we wanted to see their planetarium's show (which was great but unphotographed for obvious reasons). The kids had a blast and we stayed from opening to closing. Despite having our arrival correspond to when about 400 children on school field trips arrived, we were able to stay later than them and really enjoyed the various exhibits.
The water section on the patio was very popular with the girls.
Aunt Andrea even tried out the bed of nails.

Arizona Vacation Part 5

The first day after arriving we also took an evening walk at the Reptarian Preserve. We were primarily on a bunny hunt as the come out in the evening to feed. We saw a lot of them and some birds too. All the animal pictures were taken by Chloe.
These geese are wild however they have learned that people= food. Chloe loved them. I tried to take her picture hanging out with them but this little boy had other ideas.

Arizona Vacation Part 4

The kids like to decorate Andrea's chalkboard. Here is Alexa working on her creation where she complains about the heat.
"Too hot here for rain."
Chloe created a desert mural for the cats to enjoy while they eat.

Arizona Vacation Part 3

One of Alexa's favorite parts of visiting Aunt Andrea is cooking with her. Alexa loves to cook and Andrea cooks a lot. Here they are making ice cream for dessert... or was it lemonade... or muffins... or rasberry sauce... or... you get the idea.

Arizona Vacation Part 2

After visiting the Botanical Gardens in the morning the kids cooled off by getting into their swimsuits and having a spray bottle battle in the backyard. They were joined by Uncle Ryan who raised the battle a notch by adding the garden hose.

Arizona Vacation Part 1

Our trip to Arizona was packed with fun adaventures. The kids had so much fun they are both really sad about being home again. The first day after we arrived Phoenix saw its first day in the 100's. Luck us. We planned our day to pace ourselves through the heat. A trip to the Botanical Gardens to see the butterfly exhibit. You enter into the tented area and the butterflies are fluttering all around you. One even landed on my hat. The girls did this last year too and requested a visit again this trip.
Chloe was the photographer for the trip although I did manage to wrestle the camera away from her a few times. Here is one of her many pictures.
