We have birch tree that I believe is infested with aphids. At least I think they are aphids based on my Internet research. So we decided to combat the problem with ladybugs. I ordered 1,500 ladybugs to be shipped to us. They arrived today. We followed the directions and placed them in the refrigerator as soon as they arrived. Apparently that helps them relax after their stressful travel. We prepared for an evening release by spraying the ground around the tree and the tree with water. The directions indicated that they would likely be thirsty and in need of a drink. Then after dinner we took them outside and let them go.
It was pretty funny to open the mesh bag and have them crawl all over the you.
Happy eating little guys. We hope our tree is bug free soon!
